Dear Kline,
Thank you for your very speedy message (if only I was as organised as you!). We are a little tardy responding to your very charming email and we hope you will excuse us. We were especially delighted to find your email as we wanted to thank you for a very interesting and enjoyable afternoon.
When we met up with our new friends in New Orleans the next day they told everyone swamp stories about the nutria and your schooldays and snakes until the sun went down. Our trip was a great success!
You are an exceptional host and clearly love this secret world, introducing us to its wonders with humour and intelligence and a sportiness that will remain one of our favourite memories.
A lot of my own childhood was spent on Lough Corrib in
the West of Ireland where my father still shoots and fishes
and feels every breath of the land and the waters as
you do in your native Louisiana.
Helmar and I would certainly think about visiting your
swamp again and obviously I think that the photography
oriented trip is an excellent idea. The photographs from
our day out on 15th January are really splendid. It looks very haunting
and the colouring is great. Some are worth blowing up.
Thanks for the nutria shot - Helmar still cannot believe that I did it!
I would like to go back each season and complete the seasons in photographs. January is well worth photographing in my opinion - and we had a perfect day.
Our warm appreciation once again to you Kline and for all that you put into our swamp trip. Say hello to that nutria for me! If you are in New York come and say hello to us. There are many strange furry creatures that walk up and down Madison Avenue and the wildlife in Central Park is famous!
Best wishes,
Aisling and Helmar.
Another Happy Customer
Hi Kline!
Nannette forwarded your e-mail address and message along to the rest of us "Swamp Girls." I just wanted to extend my thanks - your swamp tour was the highlight of my trip to New Orleans.
We all had such a great time and can't stop talking about it. Everyone who has seen our pictures is amazed that we were able to handle the 'gators and that you caught a water moccasin. Julie took some good video footage - I think you'll enjoy it. Once she finishes editing it, we'll send it to you along with some photos we took.
As Nannette said, it was a very "National Geographic"
experience and I loved it! The night tour sounds fabulous...bats, 'gators,
fireflies...who could ask for anything more? Your love (for lack of a
better word) of the swamp is evident and that's what
made your tour so interesting and fun.
Send our thanks to Sam and Derek, too! I really enjoyed their stories! I was telling the rest of our group that I'd like to meet Jamie - I got the impression he would have one or two swamp stories to share. How are the young swamp canaries at the cabin? That nest was a great surprise.
Thanks for being such a knowledgeable and fun guide (and for putting up with all of us)!
Take care,
Monica
